KittenEye SDS Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 27, 2026

1. Controller

HideoutKitty is the data controller for the KittenEye Shared Database System (SDS). SDS is a centralized moderation and game-support system used by participating community servers for Arma Reforger.

2. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to players who connect to servers using the KittenEye SDS system. Participating servers remain independently responsible for their own local moderation decisions. HideoutKitty acts as the controller of the central SDS database.

3. Categories of Data Processed

SDS processes the following categories of data:

3.1 Game-Related Data

  • Player unique identifier (UID)
  • In-game progression data
  • Time played
  • Statistics and gameplay-related metrics
  • Moderation records (e.g., bans, reasons, timestamps)

This data is used to support server administration and gameplay organization.

3.2 Technical Identifiers (Anti-Abuse Measures)

To prevent repeated serious misconduct and ban evasion, SDS processes limited technical connection and device-related identifiers provided during server connection. These may include network identifiers and certain hardware characteristics.

These identifiers are immediately transformed using a one-way cryptographic hashing function. Raw values are not stored.

The resulting pseudonymous identifiers are used solely to generate similarity indicators for moderation support purposes. The system does not disclose raw identifiers to moderators and does not rely solely on automated decision-making.

4. Purpose of Processing

Your data is processed for the following purposes:

  • Supporting server administrators in organizing gameplay and progression systems
  • Enabling efficient moderation decision-making
  • Preventing repeated serious rule violations, including cheating
  • Protecting community infrastructure and maintaining fair gameplay

Technical identifiers are used solely to detect potential ban evasion or repeated serious misconduct. The system does not impose automatic bans based on technical similarity alone. All enforcement decisions are subject to human review.

5. Cross-Server Information Sharing

SDS enables participating communities to share limited moderation information. Cross-server ban synchronization is optional and requires explicit opt-in by communities.

No automatic global bans are imposed. Each community retains full discretion over access decisions.

For cheating-related bans, a notice may be visible to participating communities for a maximum period of six months. This notice will automatically expire:

  • After six months of good behavior, or
  • Immediately if the originating ban is lifted.

Minor rule violations (e.g., griefing) are not automatically shared across servers.

6. Legal Basis

Processing is carried out under the legal basis of legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), namely:

  • Maintaining fair and functional multiplayer environments
  • Supporting moderation efforts
  • Preventing repeated serious misconduct

A Legitimate Interest Assessment (LIA) has been conducted to ensure that these interests do not override the rights and freedoms of players.

7. Data Retention

Game-Related Data

Game-related progression and statistical data is retained indefinitely to preserve gameplay continuity, unless a suppression or deletion request is submitted.

Moderation Data

Moderation records are retained for as long as necessary to enforce server rules and prevent ban circumvention.

Cheating-related cross-server notices are limited to a maximum of six months, unless removed earlier due to ban lifting.

Technical identifiers are retained only as long as necessary for anti-abuse purposes.

8. Access to Data

Game-related data may be visualized by authorized members of each participating community's moderation team. Access is limited to data relating to activity within their own community, except in cases where cross-server cheating notices are applicable as described above.

Raw hashed identifiers are not visible to moderators.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest

Deletion requests may be limited where data is necessary to enforce an active ban or prevent serious misconduct. Each request will be assessed individually.

To exercise your rights, contact:

10. Security

SDS implements technical and organizational measures designed to protect stored data, including pseudonymisation of technical identifiers and restricted access controls.

11. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Material changes will be communicated through appropriate channels used by participating communities.
